Have your say

I feel I must write to you about the article regarding the siting of a street light on Linford Estate, Clenchwarton (Lynn News, March 10).

There is not a better place for it as Mrs Moore states. She suggests it should be near a bus shelter. There are lots of lights along the main road especially near the school and at least two bus stops. We on Linford Estate are at least one mile from the main road and have no bus route. Mrs Moore says the light has been sited on a dark main road. This is not true as it is only a lane which runs between Clapper Lane and Bailey Lane. The light is on a crossroad and would benefit several bungalows. Not shown in the photograph is an unadopted concrete road. This concrete is now badly cracked and lumps are sticking up making the road quite dangerous. The light would give the people at this end of Linford Estate safety. I am 89 years old and have lived here since 1957. I have to use this road almost every day on foot because I have no car. The light would be a blessing, especially in the winter.
