I attended the council meeting on Thursday hoping to hear a reasonable debate and then a vote on the Lynnsport proposed housing development.
I sat for three hours listening patiently and then some debate started. It might as well not even happened.
Labour, Lib Dems, UKIP and Greens raised points of issue supporting our concerns as residents. On the other side of the room, the Conservatives sat, almost glassy eyes, as if they were not even listening. Their minds already made up, well already made up for them.
They could of been told the world would end if the site was developed and it would not have changed their minds.
One Conservative member spoke about the good work in Kettlewell Lane and how it was important to protect our green areas, then when asked if he would therefore vote against concreting over Lynnsport, he replied he would not.
Who are these councillors representing because it is definitely not the public.
