Have your say

I wish to thank and congratulate the 1,500 “Pink Ladies” for their wonderful effort in the Race for Life charity run on behalf of Cancer Research at Houghton Hall last week.

We really do have to admire the ladies and the many other people who selflessly raise money for worthy charities here in West Norfolk.

I was however, somewhat concerned to see that some ladies, on the HOTTEST day of the year, had chosen to run with their dogs!

This is really dangerous for our dogs because, being the faithful pets that they are, they will put all their efforts in trying to keep up with their owners however exhausted and thirsty the pets are.

May I please ask anyone who is considering running with their dogs in really hot weather to reconsider their actions?

Another useful tip for dog owners on hot days:

Test the pavement with the palm of your hand before walking your dog, if it’s too hot for you, it’s definitely too hot for your pet.
