Have your say

Here in Lynn I am sure people who were flooded in 1953 and 1978 felt for all the families and businesses of those who were flooded recently and send their sympathy. With the cold weather, this is even worse as homes cannot dry out very quickly.

Are we prepared in Lynn? We know we had sluice gates put in place, but how well maintained are they? How frequently do they get checked and oiled and the silt cleaned away? How often is the River Great Ouse cleared of silt and are our dykes clean too? Lynn is a wonderful historical town, with many old buildings on the waterfront, so let’s make sure it stays safe. Hopefully with the Environment Agency, dredging company, water board and council all working together the floods won’t happen again.
