Why is it that the councils keep telling us that they are always surprised that there are problems with our town when they knew for years that they would happen?
Why haven’t councillors done their jobs years ago? For example, the councils knew that Lynn would need larger NHS systems for future growth. Now the council is trying to move the existing St James Surgery from town to North Lynn. So the people in South Lynn and West Lynn would have to travel to North Lynn. The council should have planned this a long time ago. There was lots of land in the past the council could have earmarked for a new bigger surgery in our ‘downtown’ years ago. The council did nothing when the new houses were built in South Lynn about putting in a new surgery there.
We know the real reason why the council wants to move St James Surgery to North Lynn – it is for the anticipated new housing that it wants to build in North Lynn and Lynnsport areas. Why didn’t the council decide years ago where new NHS facilities would be built for this housing?
