Have your say

I do not see why Turnstone thinks the up-lighting of the trees in the Spinney is wonderful.

It’s good in the sense that the 23 trees were saved. Did we, the rate-payers of Hunstanton really pay £14,000 for those dreadful lights that are there now? It looks like some scene from a Halloween movie. Take a look at the businesses around The Princess Theatre, Westgate and the Spinney areas – their bright white lights are truly a sight to behold. Why couldn’t those type of lights be draped around the branches of the trees in the Spinney creating an effect that is “Christmas lights”. Also why are the decorative lights on the lamp-posts in Greevegate and Westgate the ones that were used all summer long? What’s wrong with having snowmen, reindeer and carol singers we had in the past?

I think those businesses with the “Christmassy” lights should be praised and I hope well supported by the people of Hunstanton so they will still be trading next year so we can look forward to proper Christmas lights again.
