Have any of your readers taken their kids on a day trip by train to their local seaside resort, Skegness, during the school holidays?
The first train from Spalding leaves just before 9am and arrives at Skegness via Sleaford at 11am. This gives you just four hours to reach the beach, amusements etc and eat a meal before you race back to get the last connection from Skegness at 3pm changing at Sleaford, to arrive back in Spalding around 5pm.
Why spend money on this upgrade if you’re going to close the line to passengers at 5pm in the summer?
