Have your say

History came alive at the unveiling of the King John statue in New Conduit Street, Lynn.

It was wonderful when it was unveiled by the mayor and the statue was a very good likeness to pictures of the king. The rapper singing to us with everyone joining in the chorus of Bad King John was good fun. As King John granted the charter in 1204 to Lynn, it’s appropriate to have his statue to go with our King John cup and sword, our town treasures. On the bottom right-hand corner of the west window in Lynn Minster, King John is depicted handing the sword over to the town mayor. The statue is another tourist attraction for visitors to enjoy.
