The Department of Health has accused the junior doctors of “being irresponsible” because of their ongoing strike action.
They are the people who are being irresponsible, trying to smear junior doctors in an effort to turn public opinion against them. It’s time Jeremy Hunt stopped his arrogant, bullying behaviour and made an attempt to hammer this dispute out. Hunt is banking on a fatality happening at the next strike because he is hoping this will turn public support in his favour. Let us see him work on an A&E ward without meals and proper breaks for the same money as junior doctors, then let him work extra hours for no extra money at weekends. The public haven’t lost patience with junior doctors as the right wing press would like us to believe. They have lost patience with Jeremy Hunt, who refuses to talk to the BMA to settle this dispute. So Mr Hunt, if anyone dies as a result of this strike, the death is your responsibility. He wants GPs seven days a week, but because of cutbacks they are closing or cannot get doctors. The same applies to chemists. The NHS is being destroyed.
