Have your say

What an excellent letter from Mike Larcey (July 21). He was so right about George Osborne’s budget, which was all smoke and mirrors and spin, no substance at all.

The so-called Living Wage which will, by 2020, be £9 is pathetic. The under 25s won’t even get this and with the loss of tax credits, working people will be worse off.

How gullible can the British people be, to believe all the Tory spin?

Osborne tells Labour MPs they should back welfare cuts as it is what the public want, but I cannot remember being asked. It is what the Tories and the media want.

The Tories have destroyed everyone’s confidence – apart from their supporters, the wealthy and their mates the bankers, who caused this economic mess which the poorest and most vulnerable are now paying for.

Since the general election Cameron is acting more like a dictator and his party’s small majority has gone to his head.

It was also sickening, when Osborne announced more cuts to the welfare system, that the failed Tory leader Iain Duncan Smith punched the air. He is the man who brought in the Bedroom Tax that has caused misery and hardship to thousands. And when will this Government make zero-hour contracts illegal?

Cameron once said we are all in this together now it’s one nation. Clearly it is not, especially when public sector workers to get a one per cent rise for four years and MPs get 10 per cent. All in it together as one nation?
