FULL MARKS to Body Shop. It is leading the way in Lynn by shutting the doors to save energy and reduce its impact on the environment.
Body Shop is the first to heed Purfleet's campaign to Shut That Door!

The international company has pledged to use Lynn as a test-bed and, if the closed-door policy does not impact on trade, roll out shut that door instructions to all other branches.

My plea now is that shoppers are not deterred by closed shop doors during ordinary trading hours. In the case of Body Shop, it is open for business as normal, it's just doing its bit to help save the planet. And you can do your bit by showing that you know it makes sense and give it your support.

Others in Lynn – Boots, WH Smiths, Marks & Spencer and Woolworths – already operate a Shut That Door policy, and all credit to them.
But Body Shop is the first to reverse its policy and show support for Purfleet's Shut That Door campaign.

If Body Shop can do it, so can others. So my second plea is that those who currently trade during cold and freezing weather with heaters going full blast and doors wide open also see sense and SHUT THAT DOOR!
