KLAA: WHAT a glorious week for anglers at Shepherd's Port.
Bear Lake: Packed during the last week with anglers all tempting to land the carp, but only a few carp were tempted to the baits on offer.
A couple of decent fish were recorded, one common of 11lb 6oz and a mirror to 9lb were taken on different bait.
Corn is proving to be the more effective bait to try in the margins and pellet and cat meat close to the island is tempting fish away from the reeds.
Queens Lake: Anglers trying to tempt the bream and a few have been landed on different baits.
Pellet is working well for the bream, as well as corn and maggot.
Worm is tempting a few of the larger bream.
Small roach have been taking the bigger baits on offer. A couple of decent carp have been landed during the last week but no sizes were given.
Shepherd's Lake: Good quality mixed nets as the anglers packed on to this lake to enjoy some pleasurable angling.
Plenty of fish topping from virtually all over the lake. Bream on the feeder, skimmers, rudd and roach on the waggler.
Even the tench were taken on both waggler and pole methods during the weekend. Maggot baits are working well over small golf ball sizes of ground bait.
Hemp seed over the top brought in in the bigger stamp of silvers.
KLAA will be back on the internet from Friday, May 30 with the launch of its new website.
Packed with information, it will give all anglers directions to the rivers and lakes.
All the association rules and bylaws will be on the site, along with important phone numbers and will be kept up to date with catches and match results and local angling news.
Tottenhill: Re-opens on Saturday, May 24.
Keepnets will be allowed from the start of the season but this issue will be addressed by the committee every month.
To help maintain this fishery in top condition please ensure all unused bait is taken home and do not keep carp in nets longer than required.

Fly fishing
Narborough Trout Lakes (01760 338005): Conditions will be more suited to the fish if the cooler conditions continue.
Despite the hot weather, fishing has been very good with the stream and lakes all fishing well.
Willow, the specimen lake, has produced several braces of fish to 12lbs and several individual fish to 6.5lbs.
Ashford and Forrester's have produced several limit bags and fish to 3.5lbs.
The stream always fishes well in hot weather as the running water keeps the temperature much lower.
Good rises are occurring early mornings and late evenings fish can be seen mopping up the buzzers.
Blood worm, cats whiskers and buzzers are all worth trying.
Coarse fishing
Narborough Coarse Lake (01760 338005): The best fish of the week was a beautiful mirror which weighed in at a shade under 20lbs.
Several other carp were taken to 17lbs over the last week.
