THE Carter School of Taekwon-do hosted the Cambridgeshire Open Taekwon-do competition at Wisbech.
Thirty-two competitors represented schools from Lynn, Wisbech, Downham, Newmarket, Cambridge and Newmarket, including one competitor from the England Junior team, recently back from the European Championship in Slovakia.

There was an extremely hig
h standard across all grades, with some closely-contested sparring events.

Master Derek Blackburn (7th Dan), from Newmarket, assisted in the officiating and overall winners of the shield went to Master Blackburn’s team.

Medal winners and a full report can be found at www.carterschooloftaekwondo.co.uk, while videos and pictures can also be found on the Carter School of Taekwon-do’s Facebook page.

A team from the Carter School will due to compete at the English championship, in Crawley, on Saturday.

The team consists of: Miss Kerry Sandle (2nd Dan), Dominic Marcinkevicrius (1st Kup), Chloe Marks (3rd Kup), Michaela Dartford (4th Kup), Wayne Marks (5th Kup) and Jason Scheunemann (7th Kup).
