Castle Rising beat

the Tony Ellis XI
The Tony Elllis XI batted first and put together a decent total of 204 in 51 overs.

The majority of the runs were scored by Tim Waymouth (71) and Steve Johnson (51).

James Hurst was the most sucessful bowler, helping himself to four cheap wickets.

Martin McNeil, Adam Burch and Ali Poll picked up one wicket each.

Rising started well with Harry Bix hitting a quick 26, while Richard Hurst played a watchful, but important innings of 47.

Around him, Burch smashed a typically-powerful 47.

Seventy runs were needed from the last 11 overs.

The brothers McNeil then created mayhem, with cheeky quick singles, which forced some over throws as the fielding side were driven to distraction.

Ross McNeil was unbeaten on 32 and Martin 31 as Rising cantered home with four overs to spare.
