LINNETS fans coming to The Walks on Saturday to pay tribute to the first team winning the BGB League title got an unexpected bonus – yes, like buses, two trophies came along at once.
At half-time during Lynn Reserves' home game with Newmarket Town, not only did Lynn parade the BGB Southern League shield, but the Lynn Youth team, who won the Ridgeons League Youth Cup final, were also honoured.

The Lynn Reserves crowd of 585 was one of the highest of the season.

First team boss Keith Webb hopes his team plans may be sorted out after tomorrow night's meeting with the board.

Lynn won another trophy on Thursday night with six second half goals to win this youth cup for the first time.

Scorers against the Essex boys were Kyle Nicholls 2 (1 penalty), Vincent, Rose, Setchell, and Walker.

The league play-off quarter final was at East Division champions Kirkley yesterday.

THE scoreline looks harsh, as Lynn had their chances, including a last-minute penalty with which Seamus Kelleher hit the bar.

Reserves boss Keith Rudd, who is standing down, said: "After four years I'm packing it in, but will possibly look after the youth side.

"I need a few Saturdays off, which I got when Matt Henman was here. The Reserves need a player-coach ideally.

"I would like to thank all the supporters who encouraged and supported the reserve side throughout the season.

"For the first 25 minutes we were poor, but some of the refereeing decisions caused us aggravation. Their second goal was a foul on (goalkeeper) Tom Rix."

Linked with the Reserves job is former Linnet Shaun Carey.

l RELEGATED Swaffham Town are on the lookout for a new manager following the weekend resignation of Lucian Hodkinson.

The Pedlars defeated CRC 2-1 in their final Ridgeons Premier game of the season after goals from Nigel Julian and Dave Greenwood.

But their place in Division One was confirmed after Histon Reserves won 2-0 at Norwich United.

There is still a slight possibility that Swaffham could gain a reprieve, depending on the relegation and promotion issues between step 4 and step 5 of the leagues, but Hodkinson said: "I want to stay involved with the club in some capacity, but I can't give the manager's job the commitment it needs."

On the club's relegation, Hodkinson said: "It might not be a bad thing for the club being back in Division One.

"There are still some good players there and it gives them time to re-build.

"We chucked it away in the middle part of the season when we picked up no end of suspensions.
