RIDGEONS LEAGUE

DIVISION ONE
A QUICK glance at the Division One table shows the three West Norfolk sides propping up the rest of the table after the first fortnight of the new season.

Rock-bottom Swaffham lost 3-1 at Halstead, with Jamie Miller scoring for th
e depleted Pedlars.

But Swaffham boss Mick Simmons took heart from this latest defeat, saying: "I was very encouraged by the shape and the commitment of the side.

"We conceded in the first minute, but created plenty of chances. We had two efforts cleared off the line in the first half and another two during one move in the second half."

Downham lost 3-1 at Gorleston, with Tim Kavanagh netting.

Town boss Wayne Anderson said: "We played really well in the second half."

Fakenham went down 2-0 to Cornard at Clipbush Park.

PREMIER DIVISION

Lynn Reserves 1 Felixstowe 2

LYNN Reserves, who host Histon Reserves tomorrow night, never recovered from conceding two early goals against Felixstowe at The Walks.

Simon Deadman did pull one back for Lynn in the second half but manager Steve Lilley said: "We battered Felixstowe in the second half, but by then we'd given ourselves a mountain to climb.

"We seem to give teams a head start before we start playing. The players need to go into games with a better attitude and more of a will to win."
