Four reach regional BAGCAT finals

NINE West Norfolk swimmers took part in the Eastern Region BAGCAT Championships at the UEA, Norwich over two weekends - Cameron Murray, Harvey Howe, Hannah Vick, Sophie Green, Keely Empson, Cara Rose, Dani Rayner, Lily Pearson and Hannah Janisch. It was a great effort with excellent pbs achieved and four swimmers reaching the finals for their event.
In the 10 years age group Lily Pearson took 12th place in the 100 backstroke and 22nd place in the 200 back.

The 11 years age group saw Hannah Vick reach the final for the 100 breaststroke to take 6th place, with further swims giving her 17th in the 200 breast, 18th in the 100 back and 34th in the 100 free, and Hannah Janisch taking 17th in the 100 back and 41st in the 200 back.

In the 12 years age group Harvey Howe had a good swim in the 200 back to take 13th place, and Dani Rayner reached the finals in two of her events taking 4th in the 100 back and 6th in the 200 back, and 39th place in the 100 free.

The 13 year age group saw two more finalists - Cara Rose reached the final in the 100 breaststroke to take 6th place, followed by 10th place in the 200 breast and 30th in the 100 free. Sophie Green swam a determined race in the 100 backstroke to reach the final and take 8th place, with a further 20th in the 200 back and 46th in the 100 free.

In her four events Keeley Empson took 12th in the 100 back, 15th in the 200 back, 35th in the 200 free and 44th in the 100 free. Cameron Murray swam in the freestyle events to take 34th in the 100 and 36th in the 200.

The girls medley relay team of Keely, Sophie, Cara and Beth Smith each swam strong legs to take a well deserved 8th place overall. The club thanks Bam Nuttall for sponsoring the swimmers and purchasing their shirts for the championships.
