Clenchwarton (South)
Racing from Newbury

Results: 1, 2 George Moon 1189, 1165; 3, 4, 5 Pete/Ray Farrow and John Campbell 1070, 1067, 1066; 6 Peter Ellwood 725.

Watlington's George Moon won the first two cards and his first win in the South Road Club after his winne
r took 2hrs 48mins to fly 114 miles.

Clenchwarton (North)

Five members sent 53 birds from Whitley Bay.

Results: 1 Pat Royle 981; 2 Gerry Knights and sons 826; 3 George Moon 809; 4 Mr and Mrs Max Cobbold 792.

Only four birds were clocked with Pat Royle's winner well clear and took 5hrs 16mins to fly 176 miles.

New Lynn PFC

Ten members sent 133 birds from Whitley Bay in a south east wind.

Results: 1, 5 Paul Naughton and Wayne Somerton 1012, 914; 2, 3 Frank and Anne Henry 945, 934; 4 Her Majesty The Queen 924; 6 Tommy Hawes and Bill Winterton 884. (Pools Manning Brothers) nom Paul Naughton/Wayne Somerton.

Just 18 out of the 133 birds sent were clocked in a terrible liberation. Paul Naughton and Wayne Somerton had the best bird and took 5hrs 8mins to fly 177 miles.

Gaywood

Seven members sent 86 birds from Newbury.

Results: 1, 2 Nev, Trevor and Linda Godfrey 1204, 1194; Her Majesty The Queen 1187; 4, 5 Tony Mitchell 1168, 1147; 6 Phil McDermid and Son 1125.

First young bird win for Nev Godfrey and family when their youngster took 2hrs 54mins to fly 119 miles. Their winner was bought at the Fed sale and was bred by the Perry Brothers.

Wereham

Eight members sent 92 birds from Whitley Bay.

Results: 1, 3 Paul King; 2, 4, 6 Billy Mellett 911, 888, 877; 5 Simon Emmerson 883.

Eight birds clocked and four members none after Paul King took the honours. His Busschaert took 5hrs 45mins to fly 189 miles.

Sutton Bridge

Eight members sent 87 birds from Whitley Bay on August 23.

Results: 1 R. Hughes and son 1370; 2, 4 6 John Lensen 1345, 1342, 1328; 3, 5 Wally Collins 1343, 13367.

Third win running for Richard Hughes when his youngster took 3hrs 48mins to fly 177 miles.

Five members sent 73 birds from Whitley Bay on August 30.

Results: 1, 5 Wally Collins 1013, 908; 2, 4 Mr and Mrs Bishop 963, 943; 3 Richard Hughes and son 945, 896.

First win for Wally since the first young bird race when his winner took 5hrs 4 mins to fly 175 miles.
