The UEA, Norwich hosted the Eastern Region BAGCAT Championships held over two weekends.
Five Warriors swimmers, Alex Murray, Cameron Murray, Harvey Howe, Hannah Vick and Sophie Green, took part in individual events this year, together with the boys relay team of Alex, Chris Vick, Jake Crook and Josh Gray. 1

Some excellent PBs were ac
hieved over the four days.

The boys relay team were up against strong opposition but all swam well to take seventh place in the 400 and 800 freestyle races and 9th in the 400 Medley race.

Alex Murray swam in the 14 years age group in the freestyle events, taking a well-deserved seventh in the 100 free final, along with eighth in the 400 free and tenth in the 200 free.

Cameron Murray also swam in the freestyle events taking 26th and 27th place in the 100 and 200 free respectively in the 12 year age group.

Harvey Howe had the most swims of the competition, taking part in the 100 and 200 free and 100 and 200 back, his best performance being 13th in the 11 years 100 back in a PB of 1.23.45.

Sophie Green had a strong swim in the 100 back, finishing 16th, just outside her PB.

The star of the competition for Warriors was Hannah Vick, taking part in her first Eastern Region Championships.

Hannah competed in the 10 years age group in the 100 and 200 breaststroke and 200 IM.

Her first race was the 200 breast where she qualified for the final, ranked second, with a PB of 3.23.38.

She then went on to take a further 4.5 seconds off of her time to claim silver in the final in a time of 3.18.91, missing gold by six-hundredths of a second.

Determination was the key in the 100 breaststroke, and Hannah again qualified for the final, this time ranked third.

In the final she turned at the halfway point in third, but powered her way through the water to pass the two competitors to take a superb gold in a time of 1.32.55, four seconds faster than her heat.

She again qualified for the final in her last event, the 200 IM, which saw her swim a good PB of 3.06.24 to take eighth.
