LINNETS boss Keith Webb is unlikely to add to his summer recruitment drive before the weekend.
Webb's latest transfer target, believed to be a defender, was due to train with the squad last night and also tomorrow before making a decision on whether to sign for the club.

Although he refused to shed any light on the player, Webb said: "The p
layer not signing hasn't got anything to do with money.

"He wanted to come and train with us and get a feel for the club and the rest of the players first and I find that quite refreshing.

"Hopefully he'll like what he sees and something will be sorted over the weekend."

The majority of last season's squad have now signed, apart from Michael Frew who is now away on holiday.

On Frew, Webb said: "Michael is set to sign when he returns from his holiday.

"He has indicated to me that he wants to stay at the club."

Veteran defender Dean West also missed Tuesday night's training session due to holiday, but new signings Simon Weaver and David Bridgwater both took part in their first session with their new team-mates.

Webb said: "The training is going very well. We'll start stepping it up a bit over the next couple of weeks.

"We've approached it exactly the same as we did last season.

"The only difference now is that we have three or four better players with us."

Ex-Premier League player Julian Joachim is likely to meet the rest of the squad for the first time on Tuesday night.

Webb has revealed that he is likely to use the 33-year-old as an out-and-out striker, rather than play him on the flanks like League Two Darlington did last season.
