Michael Frew has his sights on a 100th appearance to remember tomorrow – by helping the Linnets end their catalogue of drawn matches.
Seven draws in as many games have seen The Walks outfit go their longest spell without a win at the start of the season for more than 30 years.
But Frew who reaches his three-figure milestone with the club, believes Lynn's first three points could c
ome at home against Fleetwood tomorrow.
The rejuvinated Frew, who has been a revelation on the pitch this season, said: "I've got a feeling we're going to win on Saturday and hopefully we can go on from there.
"Drawing is becoming a habit that you don't want, but we're still unbeaten and one win would set the ball rolling.
"Three points is obviously the priority, but if I could the winner and get three points as well it would make it a 100th game to remember.
"I think the play-offs are what we should be aiming for and I still believe we are more than capable of making them."
Frew is no stranger to the surroundings of the Blue Square North, having spent two seasons in the league with Nuneaton, as well as a short spell with Hucknall Town.
"The league hasn't changed much since I last played in it for Hucknall," admitted Frew.
"There are a few players still at the same clubs and the style is pretty much what I expected.
"I wanted us to be put in the Conference South and I think the fans and everyone else wanted the same, but it wasn't to be."
On Lynn's main rivals for the season, Frew said: "Stalybridge looked a good team against us last Saturday, Harrogate are always there or therabouts, while you expect both Telford and Southport to be challenging."
Peterborough-based Frew, who made his Linnets debut at home to Halesowen back in August of 2006, has so far enjoyed his two years with the club.
"I've already got many happy memories," said Frew.
"The FA Cup game against Bishop's Stortford, where I scored two goals, is up there as is the Oldham game.
"The Merthyr game was also very special because of the celebrations and what it meant to the club."
Frew already had a good FA Cup pedigree before he arrived at The Walks.
The 24-year-old won the penalty and was part of the Nuneaton side that held Premier League Middlesbrough to a 1-1 draw in the third round at Manor Park, the season before his FA Cup exploits with Lynn.
Linnets manager Keith Webb paid tribute to the versatile Frew on the eve of his 100th appearance.
Webb said: "Michael has probably been our best player of the season so far and has been the first name down on the teamsheet.
"He's one of those players who can change a game and has all the attributes you want in a player with his strength and pace.
"There has never been a question regarding his ability, it was about him performing for the club consistently."
It remains unclear if Webb will deploy Frew out on the right against Fleetwood, or whether he'll be used to partner Jack Defty as a striker.
But Webb has confirmed that Simon Weaver will play alongside Mark Peters in the heart of the defence, with skipper Greg Crane starting the first of a three-match suspension for his sending-off at Alfreton.
That leaves the right-back spot up for grabs and Webb said: "I've got options in that position as both Charlie Defty and Scott Mitchell can play there."
On the game itself, Webb said: "We're becoming a very hard team to beat, but it's important that we try to find that extra bit of quality to go on and win games.
"It will be another tough game and one we'll be looking to win. I'm taking one game at a time."
Fleetwood Town arrive at The Walks with their manager Tony Greenwood having recently been named as Non-League Club Directory Manager of the Year for 2008.
Greenwood joined a prestigious list of former winners from the world of non-league management such as Martin O'Neill, Steve Cotterill, Jan Molby and Nigel Clough.
Taking over The Fisherman in 2003, Greenwood has helped the club to three promotions in four seasons.
