Division One
THE New Fenman kicked off the new season in style with a thumping 9-0 win over a much-depleted Fowler side.
Lee Clarke, Simon Bush and Kevin Leggett registered in the first half before Leggett’s second, Richar
d Fussell, a 15-minute hat-trick by Kris Smith and Alan Cook completing the scoring.
Leggett and Anderson had fine games but Alan Burch was man-of-the-match.
Union Jack started their season against last season’s runners-up Sutton Bridge, who were more clinical in front of goal.
M. Hook (2), R. Hook, N. Scott and J. Connoley netted for Bridge, with D. Smith replying for Jack in a 5-1 defeat.
Globe Bowls Club took on reigning champions West Lynn SSC.
R. Harper gave Globe the lead, before West Lynn hit back through A. Clifford, S Twaite-Smith and R. Toll before Harper added a second in a 3-2 win to West Lynn.
Division Two
Fairstead hosted Wiggenhall Retreat at Lynnsport and cruised into a 3-0 lead with D. Child, C. Buffham, M. Rix on target.
Wiggenhall Retreat hit back to claim a draw after the break.
New clubs Eastpark Utd and Lynn Napier went head-to-head.
D. Stott, S. Fransworth and D. Jackson scored for Napier, while MoM J. Bradley and J. Burns found the back of the net for East Park in a 3-2 defeat.
Young Docking lad Arron Burridge did well in his first competitive game as a referee.
Tilney entertained a young Hockwold side and R. Eves was on song with six goals in a 9-1 win.
B. Fisher, A. Day and S. Pearson completed the scoring for Tilney with Daniel Weeks scoring a consolation for Hockwold.
Chase FC got the better of William Burt in another game between two new sides.
B. Emley (2), A. Goody, Mike Mulready, and a own goal scored for Chase and for William Burt it was R. List.
Docklands travelled to Sutton Bridge Res for their first game and came away slender winners by the only goal of the game.
