THE Mark Farnham Schools of Tae Kwon-Do have had a busy month, contesting a number of competitions.
Over the last month the schools have had a colour belt grading, black belt grading and the European Championships.
Colour Belt Grading (April 13): A total of 196 students from the club's schools all over East Anglia took part at two venues – Lynn
in the morning and Bury St Edmunds in the afternoon.
The examiner was Master Ron Sergiew, one of the very top exponents of the martial art. Master Sergiew was very pleased with the standard, with yet another 100 per cent pass rate.
Black belt gradings were held at Bristol between April 17 and 20 and was taken by five 7th Dan Masters with 500 people attending for promotion.
ResultsLynn: Edward Curl gained his 1st Dan; Charlotte Simpson gained her 3rd Dan.
Swaffham: Britannie Ruffles gained her 1st Dan.
Downham: Jack Bowers gained his 1st Dan.
A very well done to all those who gained their belts.
European Championships 2008THIS competition was held in Cork, Ireland, during the weekend of April 26. The event had more than 1,000 entries over the two days.
With sparring, team sparring, patterns, musical patterns and destruction events this was a very busy weekend and the Mark Farnham schools came to the fore with many awards.
These following students were successful.
Lynn: Warren Vice first sparring (European champion), first team sparring (European champion).
Alastair Church first sparring (European champion).
Shane Lucas first sparring (European champion).
Alex Havers third patterns.
The school have at least one competition every month on average throughout the year.
