King’s Lynn Young Stars team boss Dale Allitt praised his side after another ‘six-pointer’ victory to boost their National League speedway play-off ambitions.
Lynn had an impressive 55-35 win over Belle Vue Colts on Wednesday at the Adrian Flux Arena (see page 108), after beating another team who were around them in the league table, Kent, in their previous meeting.
Allitt was full of praise for his Stebbings Car Superstore side following a convincing display against a team also in the mix for a top four spot.
Allitt enthused: “Belle Vue are another one of our rivals in the race to make the play-offs, and we beat them fairly comfortably in the end which was brilliant.
“They were slightly weakened by Lee Payne not riding, but everyone rode really well to make sure we got the result.
“Josh (Bailey) got a 15 point maximum and was fantastic, but they all chipped in with important points. It was nice to see Lewis Whitmore get paid seven and Shane Hazelden get back in the points.
“There were a lot of positive signs, so it gives us plenty of confidence moving on to our next meeting.”
Nathan Greaves bagged double figures in the No.5 spot, whilst Hazelden and Tom Stokes made excellent contributions as the home side recorded nine race wins.
Lewis Whitmore, Scott Campos and Ryan Kinsley also made solid contributions as the Young Stars claimed a resounding win in what many were predicting would be another tight encounter.
After giving their confidence a major boost and moving within five points of the all-important top four, Allitt’s side will travel to top of the table Birmingham next Wednesday before hosting the Isle of Wight next Friday, August 5 (both 7.30pm).
