Sport - Angling: Anglers frustrated by the weather
Another disappointing week has been endured on the KLAA rivers despite conditions being favourable during the weekend.
Continuous heavy flows caused a disruption in the feeding among the fish and there were more blank nets than reported catches on the two main rivers.
Ten Mile Bank has been flowing heavily and the pumps on the Level have been working hard.
Predator anglers have also found the conditions tough and presenting a bait has been almost impossible.
Shads and lures also gave little or no rewards.
Shepherd’s Lake provided the best chance to have a good day’s sport and silvers are showing very well on the pole, whip and waggler.
Skimmers, roach and rudd showed well when presenting pinkie and maggot on the hook.
Pole at 9 to 11 metres, four-metre whip to hand and the waggler at two to three rod lengths out have found the silvers.
Punched bread has also been very successful.
Barry McCornell will be guest speaker at the Lynn PAC meeting at the West Winch, William Burt on Wednesday, from 7.30pm.
His talk will be on fishing The Fens for zander and he will also be selling signed copies of his new book.
The KLAA will host an Open Christmas match on Ten Mile Bank on Sunday.
The match will take place between Modney Bridge and the Chapel.
The draw will be at 8.30am on the EA car park at Denver Sluice and the match 10am to 3pm. Cost is £10. To book, call Darrell Watkin on 07801028085.

Trout are feeding and moving well in Hobbs’ Lake. Plenty of fish are rising in the afternoon and are prepared to chase and attack flies fished in the upper layers and surface of the water.
Lots of rainbows weighing more than 2lbs and all fighting fit.
