LYNN children’s nurse Emma Thompson is preparing to run 26 miles to help vulnerable youngsters and their families.
Emma, 34, of Filberts, Fairstead, is training hard for this year’s London Marathon and hoping to raise the figure of £2,012 for the Ormiston Trust.
It will be her first marathon and she hopes to complete the race, which is taking place on April 22, in about four-and-a-half hours.
Since September, she has been combining regular training runs with her job as a staff nurse on Rudham ward, the children’s ward of Lynn’s Queen Elizabeth Hospital.
Her chosen charity is dedicated to supporting disadvantaged children and young people to give them a happy and fulfilling future.
Emma said: “At work, I deal with a lot of families that this charity could help.”
She wants to raise the profile of Ormiston, which has a number of centres in the East of England and hopes to start operating in the Lynn area.
She can be sponsored by going to www.justgiving.com/emma-thompson22.
