Youngsters urged to get into GEAR

ORGANISERS of the annual Great East Anglia Run (GEAR) have launched a new junior run to take place alongside the main event this year.

Mini Gear has been introduced after a 1.2 mile fun run for children aged eight and older proved very popular last year.

The event will take place on the same day as GEAR, Sunday May 6, starting from Lynn’s Tuesday Market Place at 10.30am.

Last year, runners raised thousands of pounds for charity, including the Norfolk Hospice Tapping House.

Hospice officials are keen for as many as possible to run for them again this time around and are offering free, individually designed t-shirts to their participants, thanks to sponsorship from Cooper Roller Bearings of Lynn.

Anyone who would like to run the race for Tapping House should phone 01485 542891 or email amanda.standen@norfolk hospice.org.uk

Runners will also need to register at www.greateastangliarun.co.uk
