DIVISION ONE
HAYLEY EA won a close and high-scoring match against Castle Acre to move back to the top.
Hayley scored 260 thanks to a 102 2nd wicket partnership between Carl Ringwood (100) and Jock Leishman (53). Sam Molyneux took 5-50 and M Elliott 3-70 for Castle Acre. In reply Castle Acre got within 11 runs of Hayley’s score with good knocks from Extras (55!), Jason Fryatt (51), Sam Molyneux (47), D Curry (45*) and M Warnes (30). C Smith took 3-43 for Hayley.
Sandringham beat Northwold by 31 runs. Richard Hurst (53) and Ollie Riviere (48) top-scored in a total of 216. Adie Seymour took 3-52 and then scored 62 in Northwold’s reply of 186, but Lloyd Richmond (4-29) and Cameron Green (3-42) ensured Northwold were short of their target.
Swanton Morley cruised to a 7-wicket win against Bircham. John King hit 63 for Bircham but Wayne McKinney (5-23) and Luke Folan (3-26) kept the total down to 152. Daniel Lake was unbeaten on 65 in Swanton Morley successful run chase.
Snettisham thrashed The Creakes by 9 wickets. The Creakes were restricted to 142-7 with C Humphrey unbeaten on 42 and Martin Herbert taking 3-19. Matt Herbert (60*) and Ryan Twiddy (39*) made the run chase look easy.
No play was possible due to heavy rain for the Leverington v Grimston match.
DIVISION twO
Sheringham A ended Springwood’s unbeaten run with their 3 wicket win. Springwood set a target of 192 to win thanks to solid batting throughout the team including David Bek (37) and Roshan Samarathunga (31). Perry Dawson took 3-21 but Sheringham won with 7 balls to spare.
ClOSED gap
Downham B won again to close the gap on leaders Springwood to just 5 points with their 4-wicket win against Heacham. Lee Holman (4-55) and Simon Brooking (3-43) restricted Heacham to 177-8 with M Wright (48), A Dix (43*) and K Dix (36) scoring well. Alan Thulbourne (61) and Ian Stacey (41) ensured Downham victory in the 38th over.
Holt amassed 286 thanks to an 139 from Mark Spillett and Gayton were always behind the run rate as they lost by 125 runs, Richard Waterfield (39) their top scorer.
Terrington recorded an easy 91 run victory against Fakenham A. Charlie Collison 68 not out and Jason Young 59 had helped set a target of 207. In reply Fakenham A were bowled out for just 116.
Thornham had a comfortable 78 run victory against Gooderstone. Kevin Williamson bludgeoned 66 accompanied by Jacob Seed (30) and Stuart Broughton (28) in a total of 189. Paul Lough 4-34 was the main wicket taker as Gooderstone were all out for just 111 despite Andrew Bailey who scored 53 and took 4-47.
DIVISION three
Wisbech B remained top after their 60-run victory against Narborough A. Wisbech hit 264-8 G Powley taking 3-35. In Narborough’s respectable reply of 204-6, Martin Saddleton made 77 and S King 37.
Roy Bland (35) and Simon Groom (40*) helped Hockwold to a good start against Denver. At 136-5 Simon became a spectator as Hockwold had no answer to the spin wizardry of Ben Rolfe (6-34) losing their last 5 wickets for just 9 runs to be bowled out for 145. Craig McCreith (3-40) helped put Denver in trouble at 99-6 before Kevin Cornwall (35*) ensured a 3-wicket victory in the 38th over.
After a shaky start Sunil Anthrayose (79) held the Hospital’s innings together for a total of 219-9. Swaffham A’s Robert Impey picked up 5-66 and keeper Robert Crisp took 3 catches. Robert Howling (42) got Swaffham A off to a blistering start before wickets fell to Khalid Sohail picking up 4-26 and Praveen Inaparthy 4-50 as Swaffham A were bowled out for 162.
Grimston A scored 201 through Tom Anderson (49) and Kevin Thornton (38). T Nicol picked up 3-50 for Snettisham A. After 11 overs, Snettisham had reached 59-1 before rain ended play.
DIVISION FOur
Swanton Morley A are the only unbeaten team in the league but Dereham B gave them quite a fright! Dereham fell just 9 runs short with only 3 balls remaining.
Beeston remain top despite losing to Necton. Adie Grief took 5-28 as Beeston were bowled out for just 91, but Necton were made to work hard for their 6 wicket victory with Andy Scholey unbeaten on 42.
Gooderstone suffered another heavy defeat after Castle Acre’s captain, Graham Davis, had a devastating 7 over spell of 5-5. Only one batsman made it to double figures in a meagre total of just 52. Neil Farrow (3-23) took three Castle Acre wickets before the winning runs were scored in the 13th over.
