Terrington 1 AFC Lynn 2

AFC Lynn took a massive step towards the title with a crucial 2-1 win at Terrington in Saturday’s battle of the top two.

AFC Lynn are still unbeaten, while they inflicted just a second league defeat of the season for Terrington, who have led the table for much of the campaign, at the Memorial Field.

Andrew Wood struck a priceless double for the visitors, one in each half, while Matthew Prudence replied for hosts Terrington.

It leaves AFC four points ahead of their rivals in the table with six games remaining for both sides.

In third are Birchwood, who had no game.

Fourth-spot Redgate Rangers Reserves had Joe Collison, Billy Eastwood (4) and Sam Peck (2) on target in a 7-3 win over Castle Rising (Craig Barraza, Billy Overton and Sam Hewitt).

Biggest scoreline of the day was at Birchwood Reserves, who beat Hungate Rovers 11-4 in Division Two.

Birchwood goals came from Jake Dewing (4), David Fysh, Kieran Stevenson (4), Marcus Loasby and Nathan Muttock. Leaders are Snettisham who had a home walkover against Watlington Sports & Social Club.
