Fakenham Town manager Wayne Anderson is confident his side will enjoy a positive start to the new Thurlow Nunn Premier Divison season, which kicks off this weekend.
The Ghosts host Hadleigh United tomorrow (Saturday 30, kick off 3pm) and the curtain came down on their pre-season preparations when they were held to a 1-1 draw at the Walks on Wednesday night by King’s Lynn Town Reserves.
Anderson’s side have faced some tough tests over the summer, including XI’s from Leicester City and Norwich City, and the Clipbush Park boss is looking forward to the off.
“We are ready and really looking forward to getting out there once the season starts,” Anderson (pictured) told the Lynn News.
“It has been a tough pre-season because we are starting early, so it is more difficult to get everyone fit and prepared for the season to start but I think we are in a good place.
“The lads have really worked hard during some tough tests over the summer and I am sure we can carry that on into the season and hopefully we can get off to a good start, but we know it is going to be tough because Hadleigh are a good side.”
Thurlow Nunn First Division outfit Downham Town start their competitive fixtures with a trip to Cornard United in the FA Cup on Saturday, August 6.
