ESFA National Cup

Semi-final

CWA 1 Myerscough 5

The Lynn College of West Anglia’s Men’s team had their final hopes dashed despite going ahead early on at Lynnsport on Wednesday.

Myerscough College from Preston levelled, then the visitors added four second half strikes.

The CWA Sports Campus took the lead within the first ten minutes through their goal machine Dylan Edge. Jarvis fired a long ball, which was completely misjudged by the visiting goalkeeper and Edge slotted it home.

Myerscough hit back in the 12th minute and thought they had an equaliser but the assistant ruled their effort not to have crossed the line

Midway through the first half AJ Jarvis superbly saved a Myerscough penalty, but on 25 minutes a free-kick was given away by Calvert and was put away brilliantly by the north-west side. Eoin McQuaid blasted over on the edge of the box for the hosts before half-time, and after the interval Walker found himself in a one-on-one but shot wide.

Myerscough won the tie with goals on 64, 75, 80 and 87 minutes.

The CWA Sports Campus tweeted: “Best team won on the day. Great game of football today.

“All the best to @My_Sport in the final #goodteam unlucky to our @CWASport lads good effort #Proud2BCWA”
