The Girls Football Academy from Lynn’s College of West Anglia Sports Campus recently took part in the Association of Colleges (AoC) eastern region tournament in Norwich competing against eight other colleges from around the region from as far as Essex.
In the group stage CWA recorded wins against Cambridge Regional College, Easton College and South Essex College before progressing to the semi-finals where they defeated East Norfolk Sixth Form College.
In the final CWA took on Colchester Institute and won 1-0 with a goal from Josie Turner. CWA girls now progress to the national finals at Bath University during the Easter break 2015.
The girls remain unbeaten in the AoC Sport Eastern Regional League.
Programme manager for sport at CWA Tommy Goode said: “This is a fantastic achievement for our girls who should be really proud of their hard work and development.
“We have put a lot of work into developing girls’ sport generally at the college.”
