Thurlow Nunn League Premier Division

Hadleigh United 3

Swaffham Town 2

Walsham le Willows 0 Fakenham Town 1

In a frantic finish to the season and a tough run-in for the Pedlars, in their final game on Saturday they needed a point to stay just out of the bottom three.

A dream start, Joe Jackson was played through by Jake Platten, and shot right footed past the keeper low into the far corner. Hadleigh equalised in the 38th minute and took the lead three minutes before half-time.

A glimmer of hope in the 60th minute, when Aaron Porter crossed from the left wing, and Jackson clinically finished from 10 yards. All hopes of the game being salvaged were lost five minutes from time, Hadleigh scoring their third. Att:79.

Away from ‘The Millfield’ rivals Fakenham did enough with a 1-0 victory at Walsham Le Willows to leapfrog Swaffham and finish outside of the relegation zone (Kyle Plumb on 49 minutes; att: 83).

The Pedlars now have to wait and see the outcomes of demotion and promotion from other leagues to discover their destiny for next season.

A gritty and determined effort by all of the Pedlars players following a tough week and even tougher season.

Back at Shoemakers Lane, a disappointing 8-0 defeat for the Reserves against Brandon Town, ended their season.

The Veterans completed their season with a 5-0 defeat to North Walsham Veterans.

The Vets had a difficult season with some up-and-down moments but at least the opportunity to relive their dreams.

The committee and Pedlars players thank all who have supported the teams this season, both as spectators and sponsors; particularly The George Hotel and The Greyhound Inn.
