Red Insure Cup
Barton Rovers 1
King’s Lynn Town 3
Two late goals saw a much-changed Lynn side book their place in the next round on Tuesday evening.
Jack Friend opened the scoring on 16 minutes but Rovers levelled through Jordan Davis on 66 minutes.
Friend added a second four minutes before the end and Lee Stevenson completed the scoring one minute into stoppage time.
Linnets boss Gary Setchell praised his players, saying: “It was an excellent performance and I had to make sure that I got the mix of players right coming into this game.
“I had to select a team which I thought could get us a result and we did that.
“Birdy looked like he was an experienced full-back while both Matty Castellan and Ryan Fryatt were also excellent at the back.
“When you throw Kern Miller into the mix we now have three young and local centre-halves here who could go on and play for the club for many years to come.”
On Stevenson, who travelled all the way down from Sheffield to play, Setchell said: “Steevo wanted to play for us. He isn’t coming for the ride, he wants to do well for the club.
“He is normally at the heart of most of the good things which we do and against Dunstable I thought he was easily our best player in the first half. It has been tough for him at times this season but he has been trying to play his way out of it.”
