Young defender Jack Gould left Thurlow Nunn League Division One side Downham Town for pastures new this week with the full backing of manager Lewy Thompson.
Gould has put pen-to-paper for local rivals Swaffham in the Thurlow Nunn Premier Division.
Thompson said: “I’m disappointed to lose Jack. He’s a good lad and a good player, but I’d never stop anyone from making the step up and trying to progress.”
Tomorrow, Town travel to Leiston Reserves looking to build on their 2-1 home victory against Cornard last weekend.
“We needed that win big time,” admitted Thompson.
“It put us up a couple of places in the table and it would be good to pick up some more points over the festive period.”
Mark Smith is Downham’s only injury concern ahead of the trip.
