King’s Lynn Town 1 Cambridge City 0

A goal two minutes into the second half from Liam Hurst gave Lynn a deserved first win of the season against Cambridge City on Tuesday night in the Evo-Stik Southern League Premier Division.

Hurst’s strike ended seven months of home humiliation as the Linnets recorded their first win at The Walks since the turn of the year.

The single goal margin might have been greater but for some missed chances and the offside flag which denied Sam Mulready, who found the back of the net in each half.

Mulready also saw his flick deflect off a Cambridge defender Jon Kaye and hit the bar in a first half that saw City under pressure.

The attendance of 642 was greater than all but one of the league attendances last season.
