King’s Lynn Town FC manager Gary Setchell is expecting Boston United to provide the Linnets with their toughest pre-season test to date tonight when the two sides meet at The Walks.
Dennis Greene’s Conference North outfit have narrowly missed out on promotion the last two seasons and are hoping to make it third time lucky this campaign.
Setchell said: “Boston United are going to give us a tough run out, as will Lowestoft on Saturday.
“These are the final two games before our opening league fixture at home to Merthyr Town.
“I wish we had an extra week of preparation before the new season starts but every manager would tell you the same.
“It’s all about fine-tuning the players now before the Merthyr game.”
Defender Matthew Castellan is set to make his first summer start after returning from the United States of America, while Ryan Fryatt is set to return from injury against the Pilgrims.
Striker John Sands (pictured) is on holiday and will miss tonight’s game.
It will be the first time in the close season that Setchell has had his first-choice back five at his disposal.
Boston United, who have already made 12 summer signings, are hoping to get injured trio Joe Burgess, Jay Rollins and Nat Brown fit before the start of the season.
