King’s Lynn Town Res 4 Wivenhoe Town 0
Lynn humbled the champions on Thursday night.
Wivenhoe came to The Walks looking for a point to clinch the title and only being beaten twice all season.
Lynn went ahead when Alex Clunan broke clear of the defence and scored from close range. Lynn could have gone into the break easily 3-0 up. During half-time the heavens opened and the pitch was under water when the teams appeared for the second half.
Brad Stewart made a fine save to deny the Wivenhoe’s number 10.
Lynn went further ahead when Stannard hit a 25-yard screamer past the away keeper. Frohawk then added a third and completed a fine performance by adding the fourth late on. Lynn Reserves have taken four points from the champions-elect and cemented a place in the top five.
