King’s Lynn Town FC Reserves manager Robbie Back hinted he is set to rotate his squad, writes Harry Cottenden.

He said after last weekend’s Thurlow Nunn League First Division 3-1 home win over Leiston Reserves: “I’m feeling as we’ve got a lot of games coming up in the coming weeks, and following a midweek game some players deserve a break, and that’ll open the opportunity for some younger players within the team to make the step up.”

He added of the game, which saw goals from Karl Tansley, Jack Frohawk and Eoin McQuaid keep Lynn in fourth position: “I was very pleased with our overall performance and thought everyone put in an excellent showing.

“The second half was much better for us and this was shown following some slight criticism at half-time from me and fellow coaches.

“I feel we had a very strong penalty shout around the 40 minute mark and if it was outside of the 18-yard area it could’ve been given as a foul.

“It was amazing and well achieved for the three points against tough opposition.”

Tomorrow Lynn Reserves travel to basement outfit Needham Market, while fellow Division One side Downham Town are on the road to sixth-spot AFC Sudbury.

Lynn Res: Luke Pearson, Matty Bussens, Tom McLeish, Simon Bird, James Spittehouse. (c), Kevin White, Danny Setchell, Eoin Mcquaid, Karl Tansley, Jack Frohawk, Alex Clunan. Subs: Kieran Stannard, Jacob White, Robert Palmer, Nathan Daw.

l Swaffham have no first team Premier Division game at the weekend, while fourth-from-bottom Fakenham Town entertain fourth place Godmanchester Rovers.

Back at Shoemakers Lane, Swaffham Reserves beat Loddon United Reserves. An own goal and further goals from Robson Pack, Nick Castellan and Alfie Brindle gave the Pedlars a hard earned 4-1 victory. Tomorrow Swaffham Res host Buxton, kick-off 2pm.
