Southern League Premier
King’s Lynn Town 2
Defender Ryan Fryatt was the late hero as King’s Lynn Town picked up their second Southern Premier League away win of the season.
Fryatt was on hand to poke home substitute Jack Friend’s centre as Gary Setchell’s side doubled the number of goals scored on their league travels in one game.
The victory enebaled Lynn to complete their first double of the season.
Manager Gary Setchell made just the one change to Saturday’s starting line-up with Same Mulready coming in for stomach bug victim Lee Smith.
The first half saw plenty of chances for both teams but neither could find the net with Lynn, towards the end of the first period, managing to miss the net when it would have been easier to score.
The deadlock was broken on 69 minutes when Michael Clunan’s corner was flicked on at the front post and David Bridges headed home.
Straight from the restart Histon equalised. Alex Street tried to clear a backpass but slipped and the ball fell to Sam Ives to equalise.
The winner came on 83 minutes when substitute Jack Friend’s drilled ball across goal was stabbed home by Fryatt at the back post.
Lynn: Street, Fryatt, Yong, Miller, Gaughran, Bridges, Clunan, Hurst (L. Fryatt), Zielonka (Edge), Mulready (Friend), Stevenson. Subs not used: Castellan Simpson.
