Linnets hope to beat freeze
THE Linnets will be hoping to beat the big freeze tomorrow (Saturday) when they host Cogenhoe at The Walks.
Manager Gary Setchell, who has put in a seven-day approach for a player, is expecting another difficult match.
Setchell said: “It will be a very tough game. We have got to continue what we are doing.
“We are playing very well at the minute so we just need to make sure that we keep progressing on every performance.
“Cogenhoe are a very useful side. They drew with Long Buckby and for a large portion of the game only had ten men, so we have got to make sure we turn up.
“If we don’t play the way we can play then we could definitely drop points in this game.”
Setchell added: “The lads had a really good training session on the astroturf on Tuesday night and are completely ready for the task in hand.
“The only thing now is to hope it warms up a bit so that the game definitely goes ahead.”
Setchell has no squad worries at the moment.
“I have a full squad to choose from, which is fantastic,” said the manager.
“Everybody is playing well at the minute so there is lots of competition for places, which as a manager is exactly what you want.
“It’s horses for courses now until the end of the season and the team will be picked on merit so everyone has to keep performing week-in-week-out.”
On the possibility of a new face coming in, Setchell said: “We have put a seven day approach in for a player but I’m not focussing on that at the minute. That situation will start to progress after the weekend.”
With heavy snow and frost forecast over the weekend, fans are advised to check if the game goes ahead before traveling.
