Lynn Reserves, who tomorrow travel to Leiston in the FA Cup, continued their good form by beating much-fancied Ely.

Ciaran Beales opened the scoring after being sent clear down the right by a neat pass from Kyran Stannard.

He beat two Ely defenders then lobbed the keeper from just inside the box.

Lynn went further ahead when Robbie Palmer curled in a free-kick before the hosts reduced the arrears 15 minutes into the second period.

Goalkeeper Joe Simpson, making his Lynn debut, made a couple of good saves and the Lynn back four was superb all night.

Lynn put the game to bed when McQuaid’s shot was only parried by the home shotstopper and Palmer was on hand to score his fourth goal in two games.

Swaffham Town, who lost 3-0 away to Kirkley and Pakefield on Tuesday evening in the Thurlow Nunn Premier Division, tomorrow have an Emirates FA Cup home derby clash with Thetford Town, KO 3pm.

Fakenham Town entertain Huntingdon Town and Downham Town travel to Team Bury in the FA Cup.

The Pedlars Reserves start their Anglian Combination Division 3 campaign tomorrow, away to Redgate Rangers, kick off 2.30pm.

Fakenham lost at Mildenhall Town 4-0 in midweek.
