King’s Lynn Town Res 4 Dereham Res 0
Lynn Reserves progressed to the next round of the First Division Knock Out Cup on Tuesday night, after recording an impressive victory over Dereham Town Reserves.
Lynn got off to a dream start early on and a hat-trick from Nelson Moreira plus a goal from Jack Frohawk ensured the Linnets had a fourgoal lead over the Magpies at half-time.
Dereham improved in the second half, but the damage had already been done in the opening period.
Assistant boss Ross McNeil said: “It was very comfortable and we started well, which we have in a lot of games this season.
“Both Joff (Jonathan Hawes) and myself were happy with our work-rate and our delivery from wide areas was excellent.
“Nelson was in the right place at the right time and his link up play was brilliant while Jack Frohawk continues to make good progress.
“There is a lot of positivity around the club and we’ve got so many good youngsters coming through.
“There’s one or two of a crop of seven who could go on to play for the first team in years to come.
“All of the youngsters have stood up to the challenges asked of them and Joff and myself have worked really well together.”
Hawes’s side have a break this weekend and are next in action when they visit Saffron Walden on Saturday, October 18, kick off 3pm.
