A quartet of King’s Lynn Town first-team players will be included in the squad for tonight’s Norfolk Senior Cup quarter-final clash at Diss Town.
Striker Gregg Smith, Steve Spriggs, Shaun Stocker and Chris Ward will all play some part against The Tangerines.
Both Gary Setchell and Jonathan Hawes will take control of team affairs at Brewers Green Lane.
Hawes said: “Having four players from the first-team squad will make us stronger and hopefully the younger players can learn something from the likes of Gregg (Smith) and Spriggsy (Steve Spriggs).
“It will be a tough game whatever side we put out. Mark (Reeve) will have them well organised and they got a good draw on Saturday.
“We can’t worry about Diss though, we’ve just got to concern ourselves with doing our jobs properly.”
Diss find themselves languishing in the bottom reaches of the Thurlow Nunn Premier League, having won just two games, and are now managed by former Downham Town boss Mark Reeve.
The clubs last met in the competition in 2005 when Diss won 2-1 in a game which went to extra-time with Robbie Harris scoring for Lynn.
Dereham Town and Norwich United are already through to the last four.
The remaining semi-final slot will also be decided tonight when Wroxham take on Scole United.
On Saturday, the first team game at Witton was postponed because of a waterlogged pitch.
Lynn’s inactivity saw them drop one place in the EvoStik Premier League standings as a result of Halesowen’s 4-3 home success against Matlock.
Tonight’s game will allow midfielder Dan Quigley to complete his one-match suspension.
This Witton game joins the home match against Matlock as fixtures still to be rearranged.
