Son of Norwich City assistant boss McAvoy signs for King’s Lynn Town

King’s Lynn Town FC have announced the signing of talented young winger Declan McAvoy.

The 24 year-old lists Scottish side Hamilton Academicals, Alloa, Livingston and Farnborough Town on his footballing CV and actually turned down the chance of a professional contract in Malta, but chose to link up with Great Yarmouth last season following his move down to Norfolk from Scotland.

Manager Gary Setchell said: “Declan is another good addition to the squad, he has a terrific left foot and is a dead ball specialist.

“He scored a number of free- kicks for Yarmouth last season and helped them gain promotion back to the premier league.”

Declan is the son of Frank McAvoy who is the assistant manager at local championship team side Norwich City.

There will also be some big news announced this evening (Tuesday 7) at the live Fans’ Forum at the football club in the Linnets Bar at 7.30pm.

In attendance will be the new King’s Lynn Town FC chairman Stephen Cleeve.
