Sport - Football: Defty reaches milestone as Linnets win again
Lynn 3 Spalding 2
JACK Defty’s 150th goal for the club helped Lynn to a narrow victory against Spalding United.
The big targetman’s 14th minute strike, along with a Jordan Yong first-half goal, saw the Linnets lead 2-1 at the break.
Simon Mowbray had pulled the Tulips level with a neat finish, before Yong struck to restore Lynn’s lead.
Lynn started the second-half the stronger team and spurned a hatful of chances.
It wasn’t until the 72nd minute that they doubled their lead when Stephen Spriggs capitalised from a corner to slot past Conroy in the Spalding goal.
The visitors hit back almost immediately with Mowbray slotting into an empty net for his second of the game.
Lynn dominated the game from start to finish and the scoreline was much closer than what it should have been with a couple of lapses in concentration giving Spalding hope.
