Sport - Football: Weather warning another white out
BOTH Fakenham and Swaffham’s games look to have fallen foul of the adverse weather conditions.
Fakenham are due to meet high-flying Whitton United at Clipbush Park, in what would be a very stiff challenge for the Ghosts.
The Ghosts lost two-nil earlier on in the season but have picked up form recently and are currently unbeaten in 2012.
Fakenham manager Wayne Anderson said: “The game is very doubtful at the weekend. If it is off that is a problem because it would mean we wouldn’t have a game for two weeks.
“Luckily Bircham Newton have been kind enough to let us use their sports hall, so at least the boys are making sure they stay on their toes and are sharp for the trip to Godmanchester next week.
“We could be very strong for that game as Rory (Harper) might be back so I am going to have a real headache with selection – but its definitely a good headache to have for a manager.”
The Pedlars are set to face Ipswich Wanderers at home in what is an 11th versus 13th in the table clash.
Taking three points is essential for both clubs as they aim to propel themselves up the league standings.
The last meeting ended with the Suffolk side coming away narrow 3-2 victors, but Swaffham are in reasonably good form of late winning two out of their last three games.
Swaffham boss Paul Hunt said: “We managed to train last week and are setting up activites for this coming week so the players keep nice and active.”
Downham definitely will not feature tomorrow as the way the fixtures fall resulted in them having a free weekend.
