Division Three

Springwood 11

Hunstanton Reserves 1

In a game blighted by heavy winds and rain, Springwood were very slow to get into the game and when the visitors took a shock lead after 20 minutes, it gave Springwood the shock they needed.

Ryan Smith, Ken Diggins and Matt Standen made it 3-1 before the break.

The second half was all Springwood with goals by Daniel Scott, Sam Hewitt, Joel Melo Monterio and five from the impressive debutant Robbie Preira who also claimed the Tudor Rose man-of-the-match award.

This puts Springwood third in the table (see below).

Denver 3

Watlington Reserves 1

The blustery conditions contributed to all four goals as Denver extended their unbeaten run to nine games and moved three points clear at the top of the table.

Denver opened the scoring when Darren Thorpe’s free-kick from the halfway line was caught in the wind and deceived the visiting keeper who could only help the ball into his net.

The home side’s tally was completed by two own-goals as Watlington defenders attempted to clear early crosses.

The visitors got on the scoresheet when an inswinging corner found the net at the far post without getting a touch from anyone.
