Novus North West Norfolk League
Gayton United ‘A’ 0 Denver 2
A goal in each half secured all three points for an understrength Denver side in a testing encounter at Gayton.
Last season’s top scorer Matthew Wolfe gave the visitors the lead after just eight minutes when he latched on to a fine through ball from captain Ciaran Pennock-Halpin and fired home from a tight angle.
The advantage was doubled 11 minutes after the break by a superb finish from Elliott Stanley on his league debut.
Gayton pressed hard to get a foothold in the game and hit the woodwork three times. But Denver defended stoutly to record their first clean sheet of the season having posted ten during last year’s campaign.

Mid Norfolk Youth League U15
Dersingham Rovers 10 Denver 0
Rovers started their new season with four players making their debuts for the club and with a totally different formation which paid off with a comprehensive win over a very determined Denver side.
It didn’t take long for the home side to settle down as they started to pass the ball all over the pitch and soon took a two-goal lead through Will Woodhouse and Jack Hazel which made Rovers relax and play to their full potential.
The second half was totally controlled by the home side who scored goals at regular intervals to end up with a good victory.
Rovers goals came from Ben Welch (3), Will Woodhouse (2), Jack Hazel (2), Cairan O’Brien, Jack McGee and Brandon Tuttle.
This was an excellent game played in front of a good crowd and Denver must take credit from this as they never gave up.
Ultimate Wheelz man of the match: Everyone played superbly but Jack McGee on his debut was outstanding and capped his display with a superb strike.
