A great week for the Pedlars started with their Under 18 team beating Soham Town Rangers 3-1 to progress to the next round of the FA Youth Cup.

Goals from Jake Slender and Jack Prentice (2) earned a home draw against Mildenhall in two weeks’ time.

Tomorrow they play Horsford away in the league. Thanks to Nicky and Jo from the Greyhound Inn for sponsoring the match.

Swaffham Reserves began their Norfolk County Junior Cup campaign with a 9-0 win against Jarrolds, goals from Tom McCarthy (2), Matthew Prudence (2) and Joe Jackson (5). Next Saturday they are away to Beccles Caxton.

The ‘A’ team completed the week’s success with a 2-1 victory away to Mulbarton Wanderers ‘A’, Josh Murray and Matthew Parkinson the scorers.

A busy period starts for Swaffham first team. Tonight they host Thetford Town, Saturday they are at Haverhill Rovers and then the following Tuesday travel to Norwich United.

The club’s committee would like to hear from anyone wishing to be considered for the role of first team/club manager, vacated by Paul Hunt due to work commitments.

Applicants should express their interest in writing to club secretary, Ray Ewart, by no later than Monday, October 5.

Include brief details of past experience and any relevant qualifications held. Shortlisted applicants will be invited for an informal interview following the closing date.
